Yet another throttle body bites the dust!
« on: July 03, 2013, 07:58:35 pm »
Seems my throttle body has died  :sad1:

EMS light lit up on the dash and no power at all, so  I plugged the car into VCDS and found the following fault code:

000546 - Angle Sensor 2 for Throttle (G188)
               P0222 - 002 - Signal Too Low
             Freeze Frame:
                    Fault Status: 01100010
                    Fault Priority: 0
                    Fault Frequency: 1
                    Mileage: 59777 km
                    Time Indication: 0
                    Date: 2000.00.00
                    Time: 16:46:11

Can anyone advise me the best place to source a new one and how much I'm looking to pay?

37k wtf. :rolleye: Do I own a ridicolous Mk5, on 118k orig clutch/dmf/tb tuned since 50k!!

No symptoms at all mate. I just squirted it out of a junction and the power instantly cut back, the EMS appeared on the dash and would not build boost. I cleared the fault and all was well till I planted the throttle again.

Yeah the cars only covered 37k and is running Stage 2+ and WMI. Maybe the WMI is a contributing factor?

Prob wont be the wmi that's caused it. Just that the old vdo throttle bodies are sh*t.

Yes mate I am using a spacer, but I'm running a dual nozzle setup so actually injecting before the TB aswell. I have had WMI switched off for the 3-4 weeks though, so I don't think its down to meth ingress.

Every used one I've fitted, even if it was known to work, ended up not working and having the same fault.

Only fit new ones now.
