2. I do hope that Sergio's name doesn't appear on every single set of OZ's! I'd like to feel that the name truly does represent an individual's work. Perhaps Sergio is the last stage quality controller.

:happy2:

that's exactly who he is. He weighs the wheels and makes sure they are all within 2% interval deviation from mean weight, which is 8.035kg by method of deduction (= my weigh the same as yours).

....Hey matsu!

Yes, for 4 years of owning the car I was convinced I didn't like any aftermarket wheels because I felt that the Monza's are such a unique and recognisable component of the Mk5 GTI identity - Same as I still wouldn't debadge my GTI. It wasn't that I didn't like what other people were doing but simply that it wasn't for me. However, I couldn't ignore what WhiteGTI told me (confirmed by Hurdy) about what lightweight wheels add to the handling feedback. I still love my Monza's and wouldn't have swopped them for aesthetic reasons only.

Re 'deep anthracite' on your Monza's - It's a tricky decision: I haven't seen 'anthracite' (or similar) on a Monza and wonder how it would look on what are much larger areas of 'spoke'. So much depends on the shape of a wheel as to how well a colour suits it and also how the effect is influenced by the play of light. The shape of the Alleggerita's brings out the best of their titanium colour. We already know that the Satin Black (often looks matt) suits the Monza but these things are also so personal whether you like them.

ive seen a few other makes of car in black with a grey effect on the wheels and they look good but i,m thinking the monzas would look better shiny black-if they had been monzaII's i would have done what you did with yours as that diamond cut edge looks sharp and it IS a hallmark of the gti. if i spend too much time thinking about all this i,ll go round the twist, and i,m half way to an institution already.
part of my new reasoning is i dont want to be seen copying anything or everything  i see on here but i am yet to see a black gti with black rims down my way
i,m talking to a guy about doing the rims and colour coding it all at same time, oops theres goes this months food money! :jumping:
thanks for your help
and 'urry up and get them rims on with lots pics!!

Hi All

I registered on here a little while ago when Robin mentioned that he was a member and there was a thread going about the wheels he was buying from myself.
Just thought I would come on and introduce myself, I am the store manager at Revolution Moutorstore in Gateshead. We have been going since 1997 and do most aftermarket parts for most makes of car.
If any members need anything don't hesitate to give me a call or PM or email me.
We always do deals for forum members too so just ask for me and quote the forum name. (and no, Robin you can't have any more money off the OZ's!!!)

FAO Tony Danza

Give me a bell regarding your centre caps, I should be able to get them if I do not already have some in stock.
There are a few different sizes of cap for different OZ rims but if you can give me the spec of your wheel (width, model etc etc) I should be able to identify which caps you need.

Thanks

Keith

Jay - Do you reckon a couple of coats of Zaino before tyres are fitted will be ok? I don't have any other 'wax'.

That will be fine robin

....Boy O boy! I just put 1 coat of Zaino on one of the LeggyRita's so far and it really makes it shine and brings out even more colour effects

I put a third coat of Zaino on my car the other day and I'm now a huge fan of the stuff.

Planning on 3 coats of Zaino on each wheel before the tyres go on. Thanks, Jay :drinking:

....They look even better in real life and are tricky to capture in photographs. They tend to look grey in pics but aren't really grey at all.

It'll be much easier to clean more of the brake caliper. I felt much more heat off my discs with these wheels. Drive feel much different too.

I'll write a review after our Ring trip. :happy2:
