8" wide and ET48  would be about 9mm further out Robin :happy2:

....9mm sounds a lot. I'm already fairly close but without arch rubbing.

Would my 225/40R18 tyres fit on 18x7.5 better for this 9mm factor?

It would mean you'd be 3mm further out than originally with the MonzaII's. :happy2:

....Ah, 9 - 6 = 3. It's what you were explaining to me on the phone recently but I'm not so hot at remembering stuff like that.

I would have thought that my arches would be fine for the extra 3mm without altering my sweet suspension setup.

But is 18x7.5 or 18.8 best for my existing tyres and clearances?

I had some OZ's on my previous car from Motorsport Wheels UK. I dealt with the Gloucester branch (01452 376 540) but they do have several others around the country. The reason I mention them is that I had a problem with the bolts supplied with the wheels which wasn't actually their fault (I couldn't fit my wheel brace onto the nuts supplied in the holes in the wheels) and they sent me a set of internal drive nuts and an internal drive nut key next day delivery and all FOC. They were also very knowledgeable on the phone in terms of providing details of ET, weight etc prior to my order and were also well priced.

For me their post purchase survice (often rubbish with many companies) means that they would get my business again. Their website is crap though!

Deacon

....Thanks, Deacon :drinking: - Another source for me to check out :happy2: Quality info in your post

9mm isn't much either Robin, maybe worth asking the lads at VWR that set your car up if they think it will clear

You may have to wait a bit for them as the whole of Italy seems to close for a month's holiday in August.  :fighting:

....Ah yes! I've been in Italy while that has been going on (many moons ago). Everyone hit the beach and I had a little holiday romance - Got seduced! :jumpmove: No complaints from me at the time.

....Mark (Farmer) is my man (now ex VWR) and I'm seeing him soon anyway with the BIALI Boyz. I spoke to Matt Walker at VWR today and although he didn't know for certain he felt confident.

I'm probably being a bit over cautious but after I've parted with a 4-figure sum to someone I don't know personally I don't want any hassles if I have a fit problem. The VWR track cars tend to use TD's.

Top Cat is very good with wheels and whether they will fit given the measurements etc. May be worth sending him a quick PM..

....Ah yes. But the other side of that coin is how tight it all is with my dampers etc, not so clever in the wet? (perhaps I'm wrong on that one), and extra tyre costs (if significant).

I just bought some 225/40R18 F1 Assymetrics! I might go for 235's next time if they fit.

if your wheels are 8" wide instead of std 7.5" id have thought you should be ok. plus the offset off the wheel should account for the extra width anyway.

That might be wrong though,
