I thought i would give a bit of balance(negativty... :signLOL:) to this thread and to be honest redrobin i'm not really feeling the oz alleggerita's at all.....

i know my previous  wheels were pretty terrible so i'm speaking from experience but wheels with a dish even though the OZ are small will even in 18"  make them look a lot smaller than your monza.. they will look just like 17" in the picture you have....

to be honest i don't know the price you paid for them and the weight difference but the superturimo gt wheels where the spokes go right to the edge of the wheels  in the race silver color i think would look a lot better and bigger

http://www.ozracing.com/at-team/wheels/racing/superturismo-gt/en#

Sorry to be negative but read TD thread and this  OZ thread an have to be honest and say there is something about TR mk5 golf gti or ED30 and black wheels that just does'nt work and i'm im talking from experience there... :happy2:

i could do a photoshop of the OZ wheels and the superturismo gt wheels if you wanted me too....

The SuperTs have too many spokes for me. But the Ultras have just enough, and are only a smidgen heavier than Allegeritas.

Super Ts are quite heavy by comparison too.
Sideways yo!

....I welcome the 'bit of balance' and other people's suggestions.

....I'm not bothered if my wheels would look smaller with LeggyRita 18's. My Monza 18's being now powdercoated apparently already look smaller (according to some!). The improved driveability which Chris (WhiteGTI) so well describes is what I'm after as it's so complimentary with my VWR-KW-V3 suspension and Quaife diff.

....Not negative, mate. I personally don't like all black wheels which visually merge with the black tyres, although I do think they work on the Candy White cars.

....I'm afraid that I don't like any wheels which have a paired spoke arrangement.

But I thank you for the suggestion. :happy2:

....Thanks, mate! :drinking:

However, it confirms what I already imagined and looks far too like a R32 wheel.

Quite apart from the weight consideration : -

Super Ts are quite heavy by comparison too.

I'm seeking Function first and Style second, and, for me, the Alleggerita's deliver both. When/If I sell my powdercoated Monza 18's I'll miss them because I prefer their style to anything else.

Me too.  One reason being mentioned above with the spokes running to the edge of the rim so it doesnt look smaller.

....The Ultra's are a couple of pounds heavier than the Leggy's though both weigh significantly less the Monza's.

Is what I think you are trying to ask. Where the [ /quote ] appears can bugger the whole thing! Easy to get wrong sometimes but write your reply after the last one you see.

HTH :happy2:

I dunno what CH's weigh? There are several options probably but I don't think they classify as a lightweight 'Race' wheel.
