Ah, so the 'R' in 225/40R18 stands for Rolling Radius %?

No, it simply means Radial.

The other numbers after are for the load index and the speed rating. eg. 92 and Y

....

The Italians finish their hols and go back to work on Monday (24th), so looks like I may have them by mid September in time for The Ring trip - Not that I'll go round any faster.

Just had a set OZ Ultraleggeras fitted in matt black and for some reason i really feel like the cars handling is different?

Dont mean to disturb your thread robin but just thought as every one is already speaking about alloys etc it would be a good time lol.

They look great, Manu. Nice touch with the red decals too, that'll pick up nicely on the car.

The difference in unsprung weight and the effects of a lighter wheel are really positive - got any pics with them on?
Sideways yo!

....No problem, Manu - We're discussing OZ alloys afterall  :happy2:

Those Ultra's look very good in matt black, and I'm someone who doesn't normally like paired-spoke wheels.

You WILL feel like the car's handling is different! - It IS different inasmuch that you are feeling more feedback via the lighter weight wheels and are more in touch with your ride - A good thing methinks and the reason I am getting my LeggyRita's - NOT just for cosmetic reasons (you know what I'm like!).

....[Thinks: Where can I have those red decals on my OZ Alleggerita's?]

....Just a small matter of the difference in cost!. TD's are extremely good value for money, but if they aren't the look you want, then it doesn't matter how cheap they are by comparison.

I'm usually more concerned with performance than looks, which is why i'm sticking with 17's. The ultras are lighter tho so will benifit performance even more.  :driver:

....And the Alleggerita's are even lighter still, but by only a relatively small amount. Besides which, there's a point at which strength can be compromised.

I don't honestly think that I'm going to lap The Ring significantly faster on Alleggerita's but the drive feel will help and enhance the experience.
