GTI starting problem
« on: July 10, 2013, 10:03:38 am »
Hello,

Went to start the gti this morning and when it catched it just died? I tried stepping on the accelerator when it caught the next time however it revved up to about 3k then died. Same again, again and again. I thought it could be something to do with the battery as I have just put in a new RNS510 (updated to 4120 modified from rns firmware, not sure if this cures battery drain? It's a revision D and my car is an 06)

As a result I put a car battery booster on it and it made no effect. I took the battery off, put it back on and it started fine albeit with airbag, ESP light etc.

Any ideas? :/
