Cupra K1 detailed by Deep Shine Details
« on: July 09, 2013, 09:01:16 pm »
Hey guys, recently had my car detailed by Adi @ Deep Shine Detail in Lincoln and thought I'd share his write up of the detail here. There's a cheeky Ed30 in the pic's too so didn't think anyone would mind! :happy2: He's a really top lad and I thoroughly recommend him to anyone around the area. :drinking:

Seat Cupra K1 receiving a Light Correction Package at Deep-Shine Detail.

I came into contact with this car towards the end of last year where it received a Winter Protection Package. The Car is always clean and very well presented and the owner does a good job in maintaining it, however on closer inspection and in sunlight the car was suffering from bad swirling and a selection of scattered RDS's which were starting to drive the owner crazy.

The Car was recently also on my stand at an LVS Racing/REVO track day at Blyton Park.

The Wheels were freshened up and cleansed using a specific cleaner and a selection of brushes.

For the second stage on the wheels CQuartz Iron-X was applied to remove airborne chemical compounds and ferrous particles. The purple coloration is the Iron Cut Cleaner forming a bond to the sintered iron on the car paint and wheel and changing its state to a water soluble for easy removal. Stubborn areas were aggitated using a detail brush. Then A Tar Remover was used to remove tar deposits.

The car was then blanketed with a cleansing foam for it's pre-wash to help soften and remove light surface contaminates it was left to dwell for a few minutes before attacking hard to reach areas with a detailing brush

The car was washed using he 2 bucket method, grit guards and a selection of wash mitts.

Various products were then used to safely help dissolve and remove bonded contamination such as tar and fall out before the claying stage.

The car was then foamed again before being moved inside

Once inside the car was fully clayed to remove any remaining bonded contaminates from the paints surface. Not to much remained after the various previous decontamination stages however non the less there was still a small amount present.

fully dried using a drying towel and a hot air blower

The car was then prepared for polishing, vulnerable edges and trim was masked up & a selection of paint depths were taken. Various pieces of trim were removed to aid polishing which also helped in reaching them hard to reach areas.

The polishing stage was completed. Various Pads & Polishes were utilised to achieve the best level of Enhancement and finish within the time scale of the package.

A Selection of before & afters that were captured to demonstrate the correction
achieved as I worked around the car
