Does it matter which clear coat I use on Alloys?

Hi
I recently did my alloys with
http://www.wheelpaints.co.uk/Car-Manufacturers-Colours/Car-Manufacturers-Colours-Q-Z/Volkswagon/Volkswagen-Pescara-Edition-30-Silver.Html?
and the results are very good.
I did however forget to order a can of clear coat * DOH * and going back they don't appear to supply it in a car anyway.
Can anyone recommend a good brand of clear coat that is good for alloys.. Ideally one that can be bought in a shop, save me having to pay postage
Thanks
Mat

I got some Heavy Duty Lacquer from Halfords. Worked a treat on a previous car. Does seem to provide a slightly thicker layer without discolouring the paint underneath. No signs of wear and tear when I sold it.
