« on: July 10, 2013, 08:57:31 am »
I am still looking into nodding my Golf but I am after some ideas.

If I was to swap and go down the hybrid turbo route which one should I be looking at?

Your talking roughly £1000 for a stage 2 hybrid, companies like turbo dynamics or cr turbos sell them. Good for 240bhp approx.

Speak with CR Turbos, what I did previously was buy a spare TDI 140 turbo, then sent it to them to Hybrid, then I fitted it.  This way, I didnt have to do without a car for a week.

Clutch depends on driving style, im still on stock but I drive it quite smoothly but I have an uprated at home for when it does give up. Intercooler not really needed, decat provides a bit more pull as I found out to my surprise. Stock injectors should be good gor 240-250 bhp.

As Paul mentions am also running standard clutch with no problems am going to upgrade the intercooler  on mine but will run ok on standard one..Best putting a free flow exhaust on if your going down this route as well..most important upgrade the brakes

As per Maxitrol, brakes first as you'll want to be able to stop. Then exhaust, maybe a clutch if you're going stage 2 hybrid mine needed replacement shortly after fitting a stage 2. The fuel system (injectors and pump) and intercooler will deal with a stage 2 without much issue, but the intercooler would be worth upgrading at some point.

Give me £500 and I can ship you a CR Turbo stage 2 hybrid that has not been fitted.
