anybody any views on elite mapping

How much are they?  Bearing in mind you can get a Bluefin / rTech map for around £300.

Get R-Tech to do it, aka... someone who actually really knows what they are doing and not just some kid with a laptop buying generic maps (yes I'm bitter as I originally went this route and it screwed my car up and Nick at R-Tech was the only one that could fix it and the car drives perfectly now)

I no what you saying about r tech but I think it really depends on how good the person is doing the mapping and setting up in an wanting no what an elite map is like  it's self not the point off it being loaded and set up as that will depend on trust

Get r-tech to do it then as they know what they are doing! Never heard of elite mapping

Aa said go to nick at rtec as the map will be custom to your car, and if theres any problems you will be told the issue and how to solve it. Wouldn't think of going anywhere else

Without any logging (either road or dyno) then they are only doing half a job. These generic maps typically just ask for full boost from the turbo and bang a load of fuel in.

I would only trust someone who knows the engine and has a reputation for mapping them. You can't go wrong with any of the tuners recommended on the forum

Where are you getting your info from??
The "generic maps" are generally and hopefully maps which are tried and tested on stock cars. Custom tuning of stock cars is less important than highly modified cars. Yes you won't get the very maximum potential from them but you will get a map which performs well and is safe (if you go to a reputable tuner).

The bluefin map that was on Saint Steve's ed30 was just as I described  -103% N75 duty cycle 

A lot of these £100 remap jobbies are just additional requested boost and fuelling without even touching the load maps. And not always safe (I was at remapscience in Bradford with a mate and saw a Saab turbo hitting limp models the map was asking far too much of it).

Just to be clear, I'm not talking about the reputable suppliers with the "Generic" statement.
