« on: July 08, 2013, 08:54:20 pm »
Hi,
Has anyone brought mtec brakes off ebay 290510275819, look ok, good price, but not to suer with mintex pads are that good, I've heard they are prone for the discs to crack.

Before I did the R32 upgrade on my old TDI, I put a set of mtec discs on. Had no problems and were quickly posted.
Only thing I would say is get the BLACK coating as it helps maintain the nice look!

I 3rd the above, I had mTec discs on the GTI before the R32 setup and they were fine... they were a little noiser than standard but not overly so, but didn't really improve braking any (drilled/slotted) but looked pretty cool.  I'd consider them again in 345 once these discs have been dusted. :happy2:

I don't rate them, replaced all mine for plain ones having done under 3000 miles. Fronts started vibrating under braking and stones getting caught in the holes.
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.
Now have an S4 B8 Avant (stage 2)

Although mine never cracked, it's a lot less likely if you go slotted only (which they do) :happy2:

Big enough I'd say.

And bloody heavy enough too. Must honestly weigh as much as a horse.  :stupid:

Try the mtec website, I think they're a bit cheaper direct.
