best 10" sub
« on: July 14, 2013, 12:11:10 am »
took my sub and amps out of my car so I could get to the spare wheel but playing hard house music now sounds terrible with out the bass so am going to  buy a discreet sub enclosure that houses a 10" sub but not sure which amp and sub to go for

If I was to go for another sub it will definitely be the kicker l5 or l7. I had 2 of them in my polo and they sounded amazing!!

I picked them up only £80 each brand new from caraudiosecurity and now they are double the price :(

Doing an install soon for my cousin with 1 12" L7.

So yeah my recommendation is a kicker L5 / L7 solo baric. They are 450w RMS .

What size is the enclosure going to be and what's your budget going to be is the place to start.

Different sizes of enclosures will give different punch depending on sub.

Free postage on them box's if you say you saw them on edition 38  :happy2:

Also, the volume of that box will work quite well with a hertz hx250 or 250d. I've just added one to my install and well happy with it

15l its a lot of volume, especially if you take into account the rear of the sub.

I'd recommend the JL audio 10TW3

Or if that's a little expensive, the spl dynamics xtr250 (you will have to check mounting depth.

I'll post up amps in a second.

JL Audio JX500/1D

Wired into 2ohm.

Give you some nice overhead.

+1 on the JL ... Ill never go back! Unless you can get hold of an old school 10" Cerwin Vega. Loved that sub.
