Hopefully retrim will happen before Christmas, the guy I want to do it is a busy boy so will have to wait for him to fit the job in. As soon as its done I'll update  :happy2:

So dropped everything off to the guy today and now I have a dilemma! Was planning to use OEM GTi leather grain on my wingbacks with Ed30 theme but having seen a set of seats he has done in Nappa leather has got me thinking. I like subtle mods and my plan was OEM as much as possible. I'm getting the seats, door cards and armrest done with new leather so do I keep OEM wide grain or go for full Nappa while I can. Same colour as standard but just better leather. It would mean getting the rears done at a later stage but the Nappa is so much nicer leather.
Any thoughts PLEASE comment - can't decide. OEM colour and grain OR OEM colour but fine Nappa grain.
Any comments appreciated  :happy2:

Decided to go for the Nappa so just a waiting game now   :popcornsoda:
Had the car Terracleaned today, found it hard to find someone with the "S-Tool" which is important for direct injection

These were clean and shiney before the Terraclean!!

I tried to get a bore scope down the inlet to see if there was a noticeable improvement before and after but I kept hitting something and couldn't get a good picture so have had to rely on my impression of the car after it was done.  The amount of crap that came out the exhaust was about the same as when I DIY'd it last year with some seafoam and the initial feel of the car was certainly good.  I got another 2MPG's on the drive home and it ticks over slightly better.  Would I get it done again?  Probably not as I really haven't noticed a massive gain from when I used seafoam last year.

The car needed its yearly service so went to Awesome GTi to get it done and get their stamp for proof.  While it was there they kindly coded corner lights for me.  Rubbish picture but shows it working

On the hunt for a GTi/R32 rear bench now so I can keep my standard ED30 bench and recover the new one in Nappa and the plaid I have left.

Now that you've tried both, would you recommend Seafoam or Terraclean ?
Did you do the Seafoam yourself ? There seems to be conflicting info on both. Would be good to get a few more mpg, as mine struggles to return 30mpg, even when I'm driving Miss Daisy....

Without actual evidence it is impossible to say which is better so could not actually recommend either one. From my thoughts though I'd have to say SeaFoam DIY just for costs!! As I said I  wasn't able to get a clear picture of the before and afters but from my impressions of driving the car and the trip computer info I really haven't noticed a big difference between the two.  The big worry with DIY seafoam is hydro locking the engine which would be bad, but if your confident to try it the costs are considerably less than terraclean.  With SeaFoam I got an improvement of around 2MPG but only really lasted a couple of weeks then back to normal.  I'v only just had the terracleaned so don't know how long the effects will last.  I will update when its got a few weeks driving done  :happy2:

I didn't know 100% but Awesome were quite confident that as I had a 2008MY car, highline display and LUX pack from factory it was more likely to be ok.  IFAIK if the car has LUX pack (follow me home lights, puddle lights etc) from factory it needs a 30byte CCM so should be ok.

Little update...... I bought an S3 brake kit from a member a while ago - its been gathering dust in the garage for months so decided to get it on.

Vented rear goodness

All on

New dirt guard and fronts on

Fronts fitted

Rears fitted

Before fitting I had the disks skimmed as there was a small lip on them.  Been for a test drive and already the stopping power is noticeably better.  Needs to bed in a little still but very happy so far with the improvement
