I don't have the splash guards for mine. Do you think it'll be a big issue ?

Any update on the Seafoam?

I seafoamed it last year and had a terraclean this year. I'm still noticing an increase in mpg's but power etc same really.
I don't think it'll matter at all about the splash guards - maybe keep it cleaner?

Had to stand on the brakes on the way home tonight cause an idiot swung into my lane at the last minute - very glad I got the brakes fitted! Also found out that the coding for emergency braking hazard lights works!!!!!!

Update from Del at Optimus Trimmers - His supplier has let him down with the Nappa.  They cannot get hold of the leather we chose to use............ but they can supply basically the same shade unfortunately its Bentley leather - meant to be nicer quality but double the price.  Del has pulled a genius move and convinced them that it should be the same price as the other Nappa that was ordered cause they shouldn't have taken the order in the first place - the man is a legend!!! So Iv got to wait a little longer but get better leather than before - Happy days!!

I fitted a MK6. RVC camera last year and the other week it just died on me so called Eddie-NL who told me it was probably the one of the small wires that go into the camera itself.

Took the badge apart -

Found that ALL three of the wires had snapped clean off!!!

There was no way of repairing them and as luck would have it Eddie had a replacement camera in stock - paid for it yesterday and got it today.  In an effort to relieve some stress on the wires I covered the end in liquid rubber, taped it up and put a cable tie round the end.  The cable tie had to be positioned right cause it was fowling the mechanism first.

YAY!!!!! Its works again - amazing how dependant I became on the camera.  Really noticed not having it.  Big thanks to Eddie-NL who, as always, was really helpful in getting it working again  :happy2: :happy2: :happy2: :happy2: :happy2:

Not what I'd expect from VW, especially when you consider the size of the coaxial(?) cable. Thanks again for the assist  :drinking:

Update from Del @ Optimus Trimmers

Seats backs off ready for paint...

Drivers bolster a little more knackered than first thought so he is going to swap passenger and drivers base and repair this one

He has got the leather and the embossing stamp is being made up - just waiting for a sample then it'll be full speed ahead  :happy2:

Del did my steering wheel for me, really impressed with his work. Would make the massive journey from London to Glasgow if time allowed to let him loose on the whole interior of my car.

Moving over to Flickr, sorry for the broken picture links!

Interesting to see that problem with the RVC - wonder if many others have had the issue.
Great to see the progress on the seats - couldn't believe it when I read about the leather, but at least it has worked out well in the end!
I don't expect an answer if you want to keep it for the finished pics, but are you just repainting the seat backs in black, or going for Steel grey?

Thought I had seen your steering wheel somewhere before! It's on his facebook or Instagram page I think.
I'm near Liverpool so it's an 8 hour round trip but it'll be worth it I'm sure  :happy2:
