Yep, almost at 50k miles now after 16 months  :scared:

That's not all that bad....some people must surely only drive to shows and back. Might as well not have or drive the thing. :stupid:
It's a dilema with a limited edition model if you're concerned on residuals though.
Pearl Black Edition 30 3 Door. DSG. (3rd Edition 30)
Maybe on the too do list: APR Stage 2+, KW Clubsports, Brakes, Diff.

The residuals concerns are looooooong gone, I except with my mileage I will get shafted when coming to sell it next year before the mileage goes too near the 100k mark

The other-half's Polo, which is 2 days newer than mine has 4K miles on it, the moment of choice when leaving for work @ 5:30am means the olop rarely gets the chance to be driven above 30mph

Like TC always tells me when I moan about the number of miles on my car, at least I am doing it in a car I love  :innocent:

Why sell it just because of the 100k mileage, Steve? VW's have an awesome reputation for longevity when you look after them (as you do). Everyone loses money on their car anyway.

I did over 140k in my BMW and it was still going strong when I sold and I'm sure there's plenty others here with good stories about their high-milers - MatED30 for example.

TC is right. Only sell it when you get bored with it or fall in love with something else.

Hehehehe, modititus has an incubatory period of 12-14 months before it becomes very virilant. It is very hard to treat once diagnosed as it is often too late  :signLOL:

Highly contagious too. Phil Mcavity also came down very strongly with it after managing to stay clear for so long.

UPDATE

Been up to see Andy @ ITG again today to try the new production version of the mounts/heatshield.

The quality of the components are really impresive  :notworthy:

(Please excuse the rubbish pictures  :ashamed:)

Also final measurements for the production filter and foam baffle where taken so the hopefully it won't be long until the kit will be available to all. The variations for all the cars in the 2.0TFSI VAG family is taking some time to complete.

Also there latest plan to help with the heatsoak is ceramic coating the aluminum parts, which while not a cheap solution, sounds like a good idea, plus the coating will be black so will give it a stealth look

Steve,

Do you have any plans to insulate your aluminium pipework at all? (with something like this: http://www.agriemach.com/product_info.php?cPath=160&products_id=1190)

Hi Warren,

I am probably going to get the ceramic coated versions once Andy at ITG has these available, otherwise I would use the heat tape like you have linked to  :happy2:

Hmm, interesting option, I may call him to see how much it would cost to change my pipes for this option as its slightly stealthier than the gold tape at service time!

Have you noticed any change in your car since the weathers got colder since fitting the ITG? The better half is not impressed by the boost actuation flutter at full chat, but other than that it seems a very decent product.

I've got relfect-a-gold tape on my EVOMS - inspired by seeing Jonny's and also Andy's S3. If you go down that route, budget for 30' of tape - one roll will only do half.

Thanks for the heads up on that. Got a pic of Andy's when I wrote a review of it on AudiSport. Looks very bling, but Audi Techs will have a coronary.

Have you noticed much difference in intake temps?

coming along nicely, my only concern would be longevity of a ceramic coating vs screwdrivers and clips...
And I know Id get annoyed if i scratched it! (alloy can just be polished out)
How is the ceramic finish in these terms Steve?
