Steve, If the ceramic coatings I have on my Milltek tips are anything to go by, then my money is on you definitely seeing a temperature improvement. However, I don't know how the silicone hose sections will be in this respect.

Are those foam components sitting on the battery etc likely to change?

Steve is missing an aluminium plate that goes on the engine side of the vertical baffle.

The foam surrounds make a real difference  :happy2:

The extra piece on top of the battery box is to help seal off the area and it's fixed down to anything as the slight pressure of the bonnet holds it in place  :smiley:

Here are the latest developments on mine, ceramic coated pipes  :party: :party:







Even the underside of the heatshield / mounting plate is coated  :smiley:

I am trying to these to help establish if this makes enough of a difference to offer it as an option as it's seriously expensive for what it is (the reason it's white is that's the cheapest colour).

Need to sort the final issues out on my car and then I will be able to fully test this and do some detailed logging  :fighting2:

So whats going on with this ITG thing? Can I order one now? I desperately need a CAI as my engine cover is kaput and is snapping the sensor on my fuel pump.

far as im aware everything is good to go he fit mine last friday and said they could start taking orders altough the people who contacted him directly would get theres first.

The foam thingy works really well after a couple of long drives lifted the bonnet up and all nice and cold. Thinking of getting a pipe up from the the bottom grill to help airflow to it if theres enough room.

gaz kindly took me out in his S3 after he had his intake fitted on saturday and the sound on his was vocal but not over powering at all. it sounded nice and meaty.

andy then fitted mine, in alot less time, mostly due to the extra cubic metre of room i had in my engine bay.

first things first the sound it made was much louder than gaz's IMO probably down to the additional sound proofing the S3 will have over mine being the poor cousin. According to andy mine wasnt as loud as the seat leon though, he said that was very very vocal in comparison.

Im mega impressed with the workmanship on it, Ive never worked with a man who was so enthusiastic about his work in my life,in this case filters. he was like a kid in  toystore. there are alot of little design features on it especially in the silicone hoses that put this intake above others in the market,the attention to detail was evident everywhere in it.

I thought i had issues though when i test drove it after fitment though. I had mega hesitation at 4000rpm, but this soon changed and all hesitation was replaced by a smooth power band. My guess is that the air fuel ratio would have gone a bit tits up due to the mass of air now coming in compared to before. The ecu has obviously adapted now as that hesitation is long gone.

Like you, I don't think I've met someone quite like Andy, who clearly loves his job and is VERY knowledgeable about it. A real asset to ITG!

dont know if he was reffering to mine or Revo,s but mine has the forge spacer on and it is properly loud when you ease off the throttle, think taking the spacer out will help.

I have stayed away from this thread as i wanted to see the finsihed product as when i first saw the ITG it  def looked a work in progress its now far better looking than the original version the coating aids this. my only wee gripe and its bordering being padantic is the ITG logo's i wish they all ran the same way, the one before the heatshield spoils it for me. bit OCD :grin:

There's absolutely no question that the standard of build is superb and that ITG and Andy are very expert specialists. But there is one concern I have and it can only be based on what's been presented to us so far - It's the foam around the battery.

Although I appreciate that the closed bonnet will keep these foam components in place it possibly assumes that everyone has the oem lining fitted in their bonnet and/or that they don't have carbonfibre bonnets. How does it fit then? And how do these foam blocks not blow away when you open your bonnet on a windy day?

To be honest I think that currently these foam blocks (not the vertical alu lined shield) don't match the very high standard of engineering/design of the rest of the ITG kit.
