Customising an r32 to fit a diesel
« on: July 17, 2013, 11:57:30 am »
Has anyone or does anyone know how to customise an r32 exhaust to fit a diesel?
I don't wanna spend the ridiculous money on a miltek as its pointless on a diesel.
Someone on here has had their standard exhaust fabricated with the r32 tips..

Your help would be much appreciated as its completely stumped me!

Thanks in advance
George

He is down south (hampshire area)

George i think your best bet would be to buy the backbox and go from there.
Obviously the r32 has the rear diff so it is going to be completely different to any fwd gti/diesel
Full Hex+CAN in Hampshire.

It's not really rocket science.
Fabricate a piece of pipe to run from where the rear silencer WOULD go, to the rest of the pipe.
Costs around £80-100 at a local exhaust shop.

Before I got my gti, I was planning to get a 2.0 gt tdi (basic grill) and put the gt tdi front bumper/grill on aswell as an r32 diffuser and exhaust.

It's not the hardest job in the world, you can do the bumper yourself and any local exhaust garage should be able to make up a pipe for the backbox.

Failing that I think there are companies who make r32 back boxes for the diesels.

These seem to offer the service your looking for

Worth a call for education if nothing else on availability of parts for the ideas you have?

Oh sweet. The bumpers not an issue at all. Do you need a back box? Or
Could I just get a pipe going straight out to twin exit?

Yeah I'll also give that company a call :happy2: cheers.

Sick.. So all I'll need is the back box cut and a pipe to make up the difference? Seems pretty
Simple. Cheers for your help. I'll be in touch Friday about his adapters  :drinking:
