Door, boot lock and air-con
« on: July 17, 2013, 01:28:15 pm »
Hi all,

My car has developed 2 faults since I have it serviced at the dealers a couple of weeks ago (been on holiday for 10 days too so only just discovered them recently).

Firstly, when I have my drivers door open it no longer shows as open on the dash display, the passenger side does still work.

Secondly, when I unlock the car the boot 'sometimes' fails to unlock also, although it does sometimes work as normal, when it does not unlock I have to open the drivers door and press the manual unlock button then it works fine.

My question is, are these 2 faults linked to one another, and are they anything that will have been disturbed/lubricated during the service which could have caused the issue?

Additionally, my air-con hasnt worked for ages now, I have only just got round to getting the system re-gassed to try to cure it but after the re-gas it still doesnt work, the dealers w ant £50 to hook up the computer to see if they can diagnose what the problem might be, with no garentee that they will find the problem.  Does anyone have any ideas, I hear its a common fault with the Mk5 Golfs.

Hopefully someone will be able to help, in which case, thanks in advance.
