Rome
« on: July 17, 2013, 05:09:09 pm »
.... If you have not been then you must go. It will blow your mind. It's easily the most interesting city I have been to.

I am a devote atheist... But you cannot help but be moved by the magnificent churches and the Sistine chapel.

Photo thread to follow.

Its a brilliant city, I was there in November 2011 and it was surprisingly hot, I wanna go back there again in a couple of years and do the bits I missed.

Look forward to seeing your pics  :happy2:

One of the most incredible places we've ever been. I'm a devout atheist, my wife's a devout believer and we both love it. The history, the architecture etc etc.

Off again in September for a weekend break. Can't wait.

All the usual bits aside. We were wandering around and stumbled across the Porticus Octaviae.... 1800 years old.  :stupid:

Got some belting shots of saint peters basilica and the pantheon....  If those buildings don't 'move' you in some way then you must have no pulse. Can't wait to show you my photos.

Have been to Rome and The Vatican myself and was gobsmacked by how much there is to see and do. Puts all other European cities in the shade.

Keeping it original..............or not!!

I agree with everyone's sentiments on Rome, great place to visit with so much to see!

Vatican and Patheon already mentioned you have Colosseum/Trevi Fountain/Spanish Steps and much more.

I was there on the 6th July - 9th July at my sisters.

On the 9th we drove to Civitavecchia and got the ferry to Sardinia (where I am right now)  :jumpmove:

Back to Roma on Sunday.   :happy2:

Not many people in the UK know that it's only an hours drive west to Ostia to the beach or an hour north to the mountains Skiing in Campo Felice  :star:

There's a McDonald's near the Spanish steps. Useful when you're sick of all the lovely food available. :happy2:
