170 weasel injectors/rough/patchy tickover
« on: July 18, 2013, 06:12:51 pm »
Not owned this car long and noted that sometimes the tickover was a bit rough, and then it would go away again. I looked on this forum for a solution, and some genius had posted the details of a recall on my car. I rang vw customer service, they checked the vin no and told me that it had not been checked, took it in yesterday and they replaced 3 of the siemens injectors.
Result? easier starting, smoother acceleration, no flat spot in mid range, almost silent tickover
I thank you all!

Glad you got it sorted. Although I believe they should change all 4 injectors plus the loom on this recall.

My GT TDI crapped out on me the day after i bought it, managed to coast over to the hard shoulder and got it towed to my local VW garage. The funny thing is, i knew the recall was outstanding and had booked the car in for the following week but guess the car had other ideas.

They should replace all four injectors and loom under the recall, anything less phone VW customers services.
