We are currently on our honeymoon and on the train between Venice and Florence as I type (3 nights in each). Rome is our next stop after Florence before finishing off in Sorrento for 5 nights.

Really enjoying Italy so far and definitely looking forward to Rome..   Can't wait to see your pics Rich.

Out of interest, was there anywhere to buy a half decent SLR camera out there mate? I have got a serious new itch for Photography and wish I had bought one before we came.  :sad1: If it is a lot more expensive than back home then I will just wait, but it would be good to be able to take some nice pics whilst away.

Any suggestions on a good beginners option (Canon/Nikon etc)?

I'm not really a traveler, always feel there's enough to see in this country without jetting around the world but we went to Rome as part of our Honeymoon back in 2007 and I was blown away, spent a week there but felt I could easily have spent a month, cant wait to go back again sometime.

People are still bored of me banging on about the Pantheon... :signLOL:....also did Tuscany a couple of years ago and absolutely love Italy really.

The history of England/Scotland is so incredibly rich. You could spend all of your holidays for the rest of your life in Britain and always find fascination.

I too loved Rome, went last year for the Mrs 40th and was blown away by the buildings,Also been to Venice and Sorrento,Venice stupidly busy and very expensive at the waterfront.. (8 Euros for a bottle of coke at a place there ).

Spent a good few hours people watching in the bar that sits right on the main street in Sorrento.

Been to lots of places in Italy....Lake Garda is also a must see IMHO.

All the usual bits aside. We were wandering around and stumbled across the Porticus Octaviae....

Now known as the Skodacus Octaviae...
