Focus ST a mere 327bhp!!!

anyone notice that the VXR power in the acceleration is lower than every other model even though the all produce less power. its practically equivalent to the focus which is 100bhp less. what a bag of spag.

ah, dont read evo often, normally has cars way outta my league, prefer performance car magazine myself.

Cant believe how bad the VXR is, that is a poorly put together package.
that little side article with the corsa VXR saying it was going ot have a crack at the nurburgring R26R lap record, dont know how that'll owrk, if the meganne gets a remap+ a few choicegoodies that corsa aint touching it.

I’m sure the blokes name is waynevxr or something along those lines, have a look on vxronline if you’re interested. I can't be bothered because 99% of them on there talk sh*te. I think he failed at that attempt but don't quote me on it but I know its pushing well over 300 brake now.

There is a number of excuses.. Main one being DSG.. Yes DSG helps but its hardly night and day if you can drive a manual properly..

impressed with the focus ST though, it did well for it self amongst the competition there.

The ST with a remap, exhaust and better intercooler will not be far off an ED30 power wise but the torque on them is silly,  having the 2.5 5pot from the volvo it makes its torque quite low down and just keeps going,

Plus the ST Focus platform is the same has the S60 so the awd system goes straight on with only small modification,  The BSR focus ST is pushing just shy of 500bhp and about 450lb ft torque it also uses the awd system,  its insane fast.

When I had my ST it was not really fast has standard but once the bluefin stage1 was on "claimed 271bhp" it was miles better then the milltek went on and the decat and the k&n genII then superchips downloaded me the stage2 with O2 delete the sound is amazing like an old rally quattro. The only thing I didn't have to push it over 300bhp was the intercooler.

The new RS will be some weapon once remapped "claimed 341bhp and 545nm of torque" add to that a full tbe and decat and an even bigger intercooler

But then again you'll need to visit every petrol station on your journey   and id still rather have the Golf Gti

oh thats a tough call, id take the RS in white i think. im a big fan of focus ST's though. its the only non Vag hot hatch i like.

There were a few ST's at the Pod when we were there in February. I think they just silently left once they saw all the ED30 times

I've yet to see an RS go down the Pod, but they are quoting 14. something for the sprint, which is not bad, but my ED30 did a 14.32 stock, so the RS isn't really that fast with the extra lard it has to carry (1467kg)

dynamically though its leaps ahead. Im suprised the 5pot ST engine isnt more tunable TBH. would have been good to see their faces, bet some of them even thought they were just tuned GTI's which would have been an even better shock.

Agree'd Hurdy the RS is one heavy hatch back it would be excusable if it had awd but it doesn't, what a shed  and come to think of it why didn't I just buy a gti instead of the ST at the time that I did buy my ST what an 

I wish I could turn the clock back.
