Selling Success
« on: July 22, 2013, 09:56:06 am »
Hey people,

I am trying to sell my car but havent even had a nudge on it. Were do you find most successfull for selling up? I have my car on 3 VAG forums, Pistonheads and Gumtree. Do people find Autotrader any good, i just dont know if its worth the £35 for a 2 weeks posting.

Any tips on selling would be appreciated aswell.

Is it priced right? The price you want for it might not be what the public wants to pay for it.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

Autotrader never fails to sell car such as yours, anyone who says not to use AT is being a tightarse. Just put £50 on the advert if that bothered.

My GT TDI sold within hours last October, I think if you are comparing it to ads that have been up for a week or two then they may be a tad overpriced.

Stick it on AT though   :happy2:
Used to have Edition 30 - number 009 and a GT TDI 140.

My Edition 30 was on Autotrader and Ebay and sold within 8 days at £200 under advertised price ;-)

Depends on the car/colour/spec how quick they would sell.

I'd go for eBay. Most of my cars I've sold in the past went through eBay. I feel it gets the most views and is the best value for money.

Autotrader every time for me. Sold my last Mk5 GTI in 2 days. I was also hunting for an Eddy for 6 months, saw the one I eventually bought on Autotrader, had only been listed a few hours before I bagged it.

Whatever the maximum is, PAY IT!  :happy2:

In my mind disels normally sell better in a 5 door, if I were going to swap from a GTI to a TDI I would look for a 5 door as it i sa sensible car. Also the DPF on the 170bhp can be a nightmare. Wheels are not standard and there is no climate control.
