AMD

I've just noticed an AMD badge on the engine cover so the question is does anyone know any simple basic steps to take to find out if my cars had any work done to it...chips, maps and the like? Would anything show up in vagcom maybe or has some one simply just put a sticker on? If it has then its a bonus but does anyone on here have experience of AMD? Cheers for any advice.

  for stating the obvious wigit...I'm waiting for AMD toget back to me. What I meant was in the mean time was there something other than a badge that I could check to say whether or not the car had been worked on. Any more smart ass comments not required.

  jesus, you wont get much help being like that. im sure he was trying to help.  Check the fuel pump and intercooler APR will have stickers on them if they sold them.

If you have or know someone with VCDS you could check the flash counter of your ECU.

AmD likes to give out their stickers ALOT

so the previous owner may have just turned up for a RR day and took a sticker!

if it doesn't feel that fast...then it doesn't have a remap. a remapped car is rather different to a standard one.

Other than that...AmD does loads of things....they mapped my car, fitted a Sachs clutch and installed my boost gauge for me.

Shaun and the boys at AmD are good people and i don't hesitate in recommending them to anyone that needs stuff doing if they're in the Lakeside region.

Shaun and the lads at AMD know their VAG stuff, I've had lots done there, I did find a little black sticker on the boot once aswell.

wow...light blue touch paper and retire...LOL. I'd just found out I've got another 2 months of nights when I read the first reply and wasn't in the best frame of mind when typing mine. Now taking foot out of mouth but obviously we've got a few cranky people on the board today Ps thanks to those with the constructive answers.

sorry fella but it was meant as a constructive comment, talking to people on the phone is often overlooked in days of e-mails and forums, hoping they get back to you with chapter and verse

That is rather harsh, perhaps we should all stick our heads in the sand in future.
