Alarm going off when battery removed?

Okay so i went to fit cruise control today but every time i disconnect the battery, the alarm goes off how do i stop this?

Car unlocked and door open i think usually stops mine

Car was unlocked, tried putting key in ignition/door but nothing stopped it.

In end i used VCS to tell the car there was no siren fitted and then it didnt go off  :grin:

When mine was fitted the battery wasn't removed.  Although I think it should have been lol

i'm sure you just remove the negative first then the positive( might be the other way round) I have managed to take my battery out with the door closed and car unlocked loads of times without the alarm, but I have had the alarm a couple of times.
