The problem with England, or indeed the majority of the world, is that you are never far enough away from some twat trying to ruin your day.

There is the option of dropping out of the world completely and living atop a hill in northern India with an endless supply of high quality grass. Doubtless there would still be some twat trying to ruin my day, but I'd be so completely baked that nothing would matter.

I'd still miss driving my Mk5 though.

North west gets a vote from me  :happy2:

Same here  :drinking:

Great rain connections to anywhere

Peak district, wales, Manchester, Liverpool all great places and fairly local. London only 1.5hrs by train

Only 3hrs to JKM dyno days too

I'd doubt there's massive investment in housing/building around Cornwall at the moment. Beautiful place, tricky to buy a house though, as the locals are constantly fighting the holiday home crowd pushing them out of their hometowns.

Dorset gives you access to plenty of big cities, London and Cornwall/Devon.

I live in Carbis bay next to St Ives in cornwall (moved here a year ago), there seems to be plenty of building projects going on all around us (So many apt buildings, house extensions etc, I would not know about commercial premises building sorry), 2 of my mates at my local golf club are builders and they are always converting barns or doing house extensions/loft conversions etc so seems to be work around, in fact my parents are about to have a loft conversion on their house.

Someone else mentioned housing prices in cornwall being expensive due to holiday-makers, perhaps for the most they are higher than normal, but not compared to where I lived in the north west, if you live in St ives expect to pay premium prices especially if it has a Harbour/sea view, otherwise no more expensive than a lot of places tbh!

I am from the north west myself and would also vote for that, friendly people, lots around to do and see.

Cumbria.... But I'm not biased at all...
MTB = soooo many fells
Horse riding = soo many horses and fields
Golf = sooo many golf courses
Football... Miles away from the nearest premier league side but Carlisle Utd isn't far away...
Scenery is awesome...

I'll second that and I am totally biased........ :happy2:........, absolutely brilliant county although it can get a bit busy in the lakes during tourist time, get yourself just outside the lakes and you'll love it all the same perks but without the hassle, the Eden valley just east of Penrith is superb.
Laser Blue 3dr No 209683, Leather, Monza II's and a few other goodies...........GONE but not forgotten......now in an A4 S-Line Avant 170tdi......god I miss the Gti.

Funnily enough a friend was promoting a move this afternoon; quick Rightmove search, blimey, you can't half get a lot for your money in Shropshire. :happy2:

I like the clitheroe area. Bolton is sh*t, avoid it like the plague. Another thumbs up for cumbria, lovely part of the world and would move there in a flash if the opportunity arose!

Not England, but consider Cardiff. Bristol is also a very nice place to live.

I used to love it when I lived in Hampshire/Dorset. Much better than Birmingham.

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.
