The actual slam panel, currently sorting out bits for a front end conversion, but there are so many versions of the slam panel its starting to get confusing, don't really want to pay £211+vat from the dealers so looking around at salvage yards etc as I don't think I can trust the new aftermarket versions.

got one fitted to my 1.9tdi sport off a jetta, it fits.lol (i'm on my 4th slam panel/front panel now. 2nd one was after a disagreement with a caravan, third was for my GT conversion, 4th was when i wrote off a megane.lol)

you can tell pretty much from looking at them, if i remember right the standard ones have the centre bar much higher

i'll try and dig out part numbers for you

Found a new one that a company sells for 70 delivered, they mainly use them on Golf racing cars.

make sure the front panel is reinforced from the inside with steel and not just flimsy plastic/ABS

i paid roughly around £100 for each of mine and included the bumper bars, this golfs been through a lot the poor thing.lol  :happy2:

how did you get on with this panel? i got a gti front panel but it's had a hit and been badly repaired with an epoxy of sorts. i got hold of one of these aftermarket panels to see if it would be better. it looks bang on but compared to the original panel it seems to be slightly different. upshot is that the bumper looks like it's going to not fit right. i think i could resolve by removing the bumper foam but would rather not.

did you have a similar issue?
