Airbag Warning Light
« on: August 21, 2009, 08:41:03 am »
I was removing the ipod lead from the stereo last night and had unplugged the airbag warning light.  I wanted to check the stereo was working before putting the dash back in place so silly me turned on the ignition without reconnecting the airbag warning light and I now have a airbag error light.

I know this can be removed with vagcom however I don't have it and don't know anyone with it (I'm from N Ireland).  Is there any other way to get rid of it without a trip to the dealers?

Thanks

Try leaving the battery totally disconnected for 30 mins you might get lucky and clear the faults

Thanks.  Is leaving the battery disconnected likely to affect anything else apart from clocks etc?

Where abouts are you mate as someone nearby may have a VCDS cable handy and willing to clear any fault codes.

....Yes.

- If you have a remap, some (such as Revo) will automatically revert back to 'stock'. This is actually a good thing and not a problem because you can simply reload the 'performance' map via the OBD port.

- It can also reset some of your SatNav stored info and settings to default on aftermarket built-in systems such as Alpine and Pioneer.
