Gti caliper is different to the s3 caliper.  It's about 10mm wider to accept the wider vented disc.   Carriers are on the wrong sides. The lug should be facing down.

Love the arches.

Arches look well smart. It might have been said but what are they?

***found them. Are they custom?

Coming together nicely. Love builds like this and the end result should be great.

Are you planning on a trackday shakedown at some point?

Hopefully yes. I'd like to do the nurburg ring while it's road legal and do some overseas shows.

I'm sure they measured up the same and I didn't think they could be the wrong war around. I'll check tomorrow thanks for noticing. Must have been tiredness after a long night caused that slip up.

Hi. I finally managed to source some 10w40 mineral oil specifically designed for running in this weekend and I'm glad to to say after filling with oil, a few fuel primes and it it started. Didn't sound the best but I expected that due to the modifications so now the journey begins.

awesome build, will this be a focused track car or just for terrorizing the roads?

which ECU will you be using?

I wanted to track it but I think this year I'll just use it as a fast road car and hopefully next winter I'll be in a better position to stop it, cage it etc. I'll be using the standard Ecu too.

So after going for my first turn of the key this week I encountered a MASSIVE water leak from the metal pipe the goes into a housing on the front of the block. After thinking about how to attack it as it's an absolute pig to get to I decided to remove the alternator to see if that made it easier, answer ........no

This meant only one thing, removal of the inlet manifold

One it was off I had a clear sight of it and upon removal the o-ring looked in good condition but I changed it for the new one and it worked perfectly even under a pressure test for 30 mins while I had breakfast

I bolted the whole car together and ran it up an it ran great so as from February It'll be getting some serious goodies. Custom exhaust and intake end of February, mapped end of March and then once ran in all well I'll start the interior.
