RWYB @ North Weald today

(1/2) > >>

NeilM:
Was planning to go to the Pod today but a friend rang and said he was showing his Corvette at the Damn Yankees car show at North Weald air field Essex and they were also doing a RWYB.
Thought Id slip in a few 'Have A Nice Days' and have a few runs. The term 'brought a knife to a gun fight' springs to mind  :rolleye:

Firstly got my arse kicked by this which is older than me and Im getting on a bit

Lots of old Pops, Cortinas, Anglias and stuff your parents used to drive getting in the 10's and 11's.

And the Yanks

My best run of the day :ashamed:

Reaction Time 1.340  (Early Sunday morning  :rolleye:)
60'                  2.436
Mid ET             9.206
Trap Mph        106.6
Time               13.873

Now the excuses, Old air field, poor surface, goes up hill, bloody hot, full tank, sh*t driver, you must show the oldies some respect.

Neil

Hurdy:
Looks like you had a good old time there, old timer :signLOL:

Some great pics and lovely weather must have made for a top day Neil

If you like old cars you mustn't miss the classic car show at the NEC in November :happy2:

Sunglasses Ron:
The red car and the blue car had a race...

I raced that red Mustang at Pod. Meant to be 500+bhp (supercharged)

I was chatting to him its a Shelby Mustang he's had a special gear box fitted and usually get it in the 11's, it almost lifts the front wheel.  :happy2:

RedRobin:
....

Those are proper drag cars! Methinks I'd much rather go to (as a spectator) an event like that than The Pod. How often are these events, Neil?
