Er my rim protectors are metal, they're the BBS stainless steel ones. They do work quite well against glances/grazes but because they're polished stainless it's a one-hit deal (and they're not cheap to replace, so I'm still super paranoid about kerbs; but, it's comforting to know it's the rim protector that will take the damage and not my horrendously expensive CH-Rs...)

Is it really that hard to not park too close to the kerb? only bumped the kerb once since having the car in 3/4 years...
