Read this article which has some merit to it:-Alternatively you could go in via the windscreen, they have a nasty habit of breaking when hit by flying debris and are not only more likely to be available same day but also some companies have a procedure to replace them with little outlay from yourself
It's a ridiculous feature on the German range of cars. Iv done it twice to cars that are not mine luckily...I thinks it's a sh*t feature. And when it happens is the worst thing ever!
