Nice  :congrats:

Never heard of anyone going back to the 'older style' badge but I agree it looks spot on!  :happy2:

Watch out for the dreaded white worm!

Joe, when you sprayed the rear badge did you mask out the non VW bit or just spray the whole lot? I wanted to spray mine which is a flat style older badge like yours but wasn't sure if I'd end up losing the definition of the VW part once it was sprayed. I'd be interested in reading how you went about it mate.

Just masked of the whole rear of my car, masked of the inner-VW bit of the badge, then a quick layer of primer and 2 layers of matt black paint, no over-spray and even managed to do the inside rim.  :happy2:

i aint got pics right now but i did mine with plasti dip. it is same badge as joes and i removed the metal plate with credit card and fine scrwdriver and then 4 coats of plastidip no primer and i  want i can just peel it off and redo start again whatever!
it looks similar but has a real rubbery(thats not chinese for lovely either) matt finish to it. i like it its different and isnt too stark contrast, just enough!!

mine has a bit of whiteworm, could I sand it down and paint it that way?
Or anyone with the paint already care to do it for me?  :star:
