Central Locking Issue.
« on: August 12, 2013, 01:45:34 pm »
My MK5 Tdi has a weird central locking problem.

When unlocking the car via fob, all passenger doors unlocked. Drivers door stays locked. I have to manually use the key to unlock the car. Same goes for when locking. All doors but the drivers door locks.

Now here's the weird part. If it starts raining, within 5 mins of a little shower the door will unlock and lock via fob. However it will return to its original state is rain persists.

I have taken it to the local garage and he couldn't figure it out on initial inspection. He said possibly need to change the lock and would cost about £150 inc labour??

Has anyone had this sort of a problem?

Have you tried the double press for unlocking to see what happens?

Yes. Double is used to lock/unlock passenger doors. I can even keep hold of the lock/unlock for the windows to open/close. It's just the drivers door that's giving me a problem.
