Hello guys, I have a cheap vagcom lead at home and ive never once managed to get vagcom working on any of my laptops.

Does anyone have a good source for the software (Free) that i can sue to check a few things on my car, i want to run diagnostic and turn off my airbag light and code a few things.

THanks Ryan

VCDS software is free, genuine cables activate it. You'll have no luck asking for help about counterfeit VCDS I'm afraid.

You do get non ross-tech cables that are not counterfeit, ross-tech do a free download for those interfaces.

OP stated cheap VagCom lead not a third party interface, hence my assumption.

The Lite version doesn't work with the Mk5 or similar cars.

You need a Ross Tech cable Hex-CAN USB or Micro Can.

The software is then freely downloadable from Ross Tech.

Or go to someone local, hand them beer tokens and they will do it for you so you dont need to spend £200+
