MY RED MK5 GTI , LOW CLEAN AND ALPHARDS
« on: August 14, 2013, 08:05:24 pm »
Hi

my name is shaun actually been on here for about a year so thought it was about time I did a brief readers ride on my golf .

brought the car from my local dealer just under a year ago decent mileage and condition so the price was right and I was happy  :happy2:
took it straight home and gave it a proper wash , the only negative about the last owner his up keep wasn't the best lol

keep it nice and clean for a good few months added a few nice touches to the inside .

only little but just gives it that bit of freshness.
after a few months of saving a came across some practically new coilovers for sale on been on a friend of mines car for 3 months from new
and he was splitting his golf parts for a new project so I snapped the up .
KW V1's

then set about fitting them to the car although it was still on the standard wheels and big tyres I couldn't wait so we fitted them and was much happier with how the car looked .

once we lowered the car the following week I took the car to my brother and dads unit "the spray shop " were he gave the car  full job (wash , clay , wash polish , machine and seal )

very happy with what my bro did

Next stop was a exhaust upgrade so I popped up to " exhaust uk " in Sheffield just went for a subtle twin car back vewry impressed sounds awesome but not to loud just right .

after eventually getting the car back to a clean state that I was happy with and it been lowered naturally the standard wheels needed to be replaced so these came along  :innocent:

Mercedes al[phards fronts 8.5 rears 9.5

had all four wheel centers re-polished and sealed and 4 new tyres and fitted to the car oncve the weather improved early this year
this is how it looked .

to say I was happy was a understatement coilovers still had plenty of room to come down front and back but I was happy a the height for now  so the car pretty much stayed that way up until recently when me and a load of friends were making the trip to Holland to the car show M.I.V.W so I decided to tidy the brake calipers and lower the car some more ready for the trip .

BEFORE

AFTER

nothing special just a rub down quick primer couple of coats of bright red job done looked 100% better lowered the car on the fronts some more and the rears gave it one last clean before heading off .

Last clean

couple of pics at the show

random petrol sation in Belgium my favourite picture

so that's pretty much where my car is right now and I am loving every min I have a list as long as my arm of things I want to but it just depends which direction I take the car in either watch this space hope you all like ( sorry and the amount of pictures   ).

you reckon ? sometimes I think it does but I like how all the lower trim is black I think if you do the rear then you have to do the rest ? so it matches .

Looks great. Wheel specs?

fronts are 18x8.5 et35    rears are 18x9.5 et40  cheers

Lovely motor mate..almost seen myself in it..it's that shiny!!  :signLOL:

Quick question, where did you get the GTI sticker for the interior silver strip above your glovebox?

I've been looking everywhere for one...or is that sprayed on  :signLOL:

Cheers

hi mate the fronts still have about 25 mm left to go down and the rears are set about 15-20 from the bottom of the adjuster so there both not set right to the bottom that's why I went for the KWV1's there is loads of adjustment on them .
