Rcd?rns?etc etc
« on: August 15, 2013, 08:27:16 am »
I'm confused
I'm looking for a new head unit at the moment.I've got a 310in my 2006 gt tdi(I think) it's the crapiest one anyway   so
What I was wanting is something that ideally I can connect my iphone 5 to wirelessly it doesn't need to be all singing and dancing
What should I be looking for? I don't want to spend a massive amount of money, could anyone point me in the right direction?
Oh! And where's best to buy from?

Hi,

RCD510 has SD card slot, touch screen, 6cd changer built in (with MP3/WMA compatibility) and some versions have DAB. (Ebay £200 - £320)

RNS510 has SD card slot, touch screen, Sat-Nav, Built-in hard drive and there are a few kicking about with DAB. These are worth around £200 more than the equivalent age RCD510.

Just my two cents!

Cool cheers for that buddy when you say "MP3/WMA compatibility" does that mean via a lead?

No via cr-rom or files on sd card.
You will need to buy some more stuff for ipod.
Cheapest would be a "connects" unit that will give you an ipod lead

if you use your phone a lot, then a parrot kit would let you Bluetooth the ipod. or there's an add on lead. You could possibly take this to your next car or sell it later.

Or go for the vw mdi kit.
