Miltek resonated cat back
« on: August 17, 2013, 02:46:02 pm »
Hi all , just had car serviced , DSG service and brake fluid but owing to a crack in my exhaust I now need the centre section and back box . Been recommended miltek resonated as its slightly cheaper than a stock exhaust plus you get a lifetime guarantee .

Question is where can I get this done locally to me . I.e Bournemouth and Essex . JKM quoted me 590 fitted but just been there and it's a 100 mile drive there and back from Bournemouth . Next weekend in Essex so maybe AMD ? Anyone tried them ? Either that or has anyone any recommendations? Places open on Sunday maybe ?

Also twin pipe or single ?

Cheers

Just take it to the nearest garage to you that's decent, end of the day it's only a exhaust you don't need to travel far to get a specialist garage to fit it. It's such a simple job.

As Chris92 said its a dodle of a job to do so mail order and local garage can do it, in less you can DIY?. My non res cat back miltek is only just louder than OEM exhaust so make sure the resonated unit is what you want!?

Good luck

Problem is I can't find one cheap enough to warrant doing that . Just had another quote for 590 fitted but there are none available at moment to buy it seems until end of August . I def want resonated I do 400 miles a week and 350 of that are on motorways and don't want that drone

Would you say the milltek exhaust has changed the exhaust tone a little? Does a cat back give it a little nicer noise/rasp more sporty noise over a OEM exhaust?

The milltek exhausts are ment to be OEM noise levels when cruising at around 3k I think and its the downpipe that makes more noise (which your not wanting) if that changes your mind also the non res are cheaper  :happy2:
