Forge DV information needed
« on: August 25, 2009, 07:48:26 pm »
Can anybody tell me what this part does?? also is it possible for oil  to come out of it as i seem to have a very very small oil leak that looks like its been leaking for a while, and it looks like its coming from this thing, 2 or 3 hoses go into it, couldnt get a proper look as i only have axel stands.

Any info much apreciated  :happy2:

Also my oil consumption hasnt gone down.

thats the bit that makes the forge dv vacuum operated rather than electrically operated as per oem , dont think any oil should be in there though ?? sure its not just dripping onto it ?????

thats the vacuum solenoid line from the engine. depending on its pressure it opens the valve, no no oil should be coming out of it! doesn't on mine!

You've got a forge spacer fitted by the looks of it - That'll be the source of your oil.

You should know if you have the spacer.  It is bought separately from the DV itself and is about £50
Just makes a whooshy noise.

It was already on the car when I bought it. My car does make a little wooshing noise but I thought it was the intake...this makes me wonder whether I got a spacer or not...

The spacer is the part with the holes drilled in it.
