Trip Computer Accuracy
« on: August 19, 2013, 07:08:38 am »
Whenever I fill up I always reset the trip computer.  I've been using the Roadtrip lite app as well as a comparison however on my Mk6 gti the trip computer always seems to be ~2mpg out.  For example road trip calculates my last trips at 32mpg but the car tells me it's done 34mpg.  Is there a way of 'hard resetting' the car because when I do the calculations the car would indeed be out?

Cheers

Andy

They are always out. It never gives a 100% accurate reading

I'm sure there is a setting you can access using VCDS to change the trip/mileage monitor from 100% to 105/110/95/90% etc. Much like the sensitivity of the wipers, brightness of indicators, etc.

I haven't used VCDS for 7-8 months so I haven't a clue how you do it now.

There is a setting to adjust the trip computer readout. But play with it at your peril. Just leave it alone.  :indifferent:
