Snow foam lance - worth it?
« on: August 08, 2013, 01:41:47 pm »
At the moment I just use a normal jet washer with water, then 2 bucket hand wash it, then jet wash off, then dry etc and am always quite pleased with the results.

Just wanted to know whether it'd be worth buying a karcher and a snow foam lance and stuff and does it make much difference?

Cheers

couldn't you just get a snow foam lance for the jet washer you have?
have a look on detailing world.
the cost of the snow foam has put me off. Has anybody costed it per wash?

I have a ''normal'' jet wash gun & just fill that with regular car wash & wax & use that as a pree wash..Works fine for me.

So you basically snowfoam your car then rinse then towel dry,
Sorry but even after a day or 2 your call will still have contaminents that no snow foam alone will remove, so you hand drying the car is in effect causing damage to your paintwork (from a detailers point if view).

yeah snow foam once or twice a week then microfiber towel dry it never any marks on drying towels they look un used after drying , my car is never dirty enuff to worry about any damage from containets , i must add that i have already done a full detail month or so ago and have snow foamed it , washed with 2 bucket method dodo juice shampoo and lambs wool wash mitt, decontaminated with iron x and de tarred rinsed , then snowed again then clayed whole car bilt n hamber clays ,snowed again , then polished , then added 2 coats of dodo juice purple haze pro.

so seeing as car is protected and had a full detail there is no damage to it being done and i dont have swirl marks , i know loads detailers who would do this as a weekly/byweekly clean

i also use project 32 as a boost for lsp once a week maybe every other week.

more than welcome to check the car for any damage! lol

Foam Lance, well worth worth, especially in the winter months for helping get rid of all the salt crud!

I prefer to use snowfoam as a prewash. For me, it doesn't remove enough crud. I always follow with 2BM wash (unless I'm in a hurry in which case I don't dry after rinsing).

The GTI isn't just a machine. It's very much a living, breathing thing.

As others have said snow foam is a life saver for the weekly wash no need for buckets and mitts and different products

Also very handy after long periods, do a lot of motorway driving and it helps massively with bugs and other gunk

Its just a way of life.
