Audi 18" Rotor wheels on GTI
« on: August 19, 2013, 02:00:05 pm »
Hey Guys - I'm looking at getting these wheels for my golf. The golf will have the 30mm drop eibach springs fitted at same time and I just wondered whether these wheels would fit once lowered?
I'm looking at the reps on eBay to be honest - I'd love to go for genuines but the price difference is magnificent!

Those rotor alloys come in various fitments for audi A1, A3, A4, A5, RS3 etc, each with a varying width and offset.
Just make sure you get the correct ones.
Some of the replicas come in slightly different offsets too.

You'll need the A3 fitment:
Part no: 8P0 601 025 BS
Width: 7.5J x 18
Offset: ET54

They should fit, even with 30mm lowering, you may have to do the 'fender mod' (also known as screw mod), but dont think it will be needed on a 30mm drop.
Someone else will hopefully confirm that.

Hope this helps.

Ah jason_rmh thanks so much!

I hadn't even contemplated that the Reps would be a different width and offset really. The reps are all 8j? It says on the site they will fit mk5 Gti.. But I am worried about rubbing issues...

8j may be OK if the offset is different to compensate.
Need someone who understands this a bit better to explain...
Anyone?

I was lowered on H&Rs (which are lower than 30mm) i ran 18x8j ET45 and only had occasional scrubbing on fast cornering. I ran 9j on the rear with no problem

Oh - maybe 8j will be ok if the offset is good. I must admit I don't fully remember how the offsets work out...

The wheels I'm looking at http://bit.ly/15u0Vdd
Are 8j with ET35 I believe.

Thanks again for your advice :)
