Thats a long time Pete, even with a 1gig card I could manage quicker than that, think about an album in 4-5 minutes (10-12 tracks) might be the read speed of your SD card as these can vary alot depending on the chips used, might be worth trying a different card if you have one?

5Dr Black GTI, DSG, Leather, Xenons. Retrofitted - Cruise, RNS 510, MFSW, Armrest, Skoda BT, 6cd changer, Monza II's, VW speaker upgrade kit, Lux pack, High-line, new CAN gateway, Polar FIS info display, R32 tinted rear lights, RVC

To Come...NQSBBK, highline CCM.

On mine it took about 30 mins  but I was actually listening to stuff on the HDD at the time while I was working on the car :happy2:

If you are coping put it on the radio so it takes the stress off the hdd and sd card.

Folks will it be ok to install the newer version of firmware marked as 2720 / 2722 / 2724 / 2726 / 2728?
Has anyone tried this, and is it an upgrade?

Thought I'd take the gamble...

The update definitely makes the unit faster and more responsive than the 1200 or 2600 firmware counterparts.

Plus, the update retains all your previous music, settings, sat nav favourites, etc. Result!!!  :happy2:

P.S.  My unit took 40 mins to complete the update.

Yep, did mine the other week and can confirm that it is a lot faster than it was with the 2600 firmware, quick install and didn't delete any of my saved music etc. Slightly annoyed that this update still hasn't resolved the Skoda bluetooth issue though, works fine with my iPhone but not my Blackberry, just like it did with the 2600 firmware.

The Skoda UHV bluetooth 1Z0 035 729 B (1Z0035729B) has an issue with RNS 510 firmware 2600 and above, with some phones it no longer displays the phone book and/or the call details although signal strength etc are visible for some phones. However, the MFD functions as per normal with phone book and last calls listed correctly, so it's not the end of the world. My Blackberry 8310 worked fine with firmware 1200 and below but it only partially works with any firmware above this (ie 2600 and above). However my Iphone 3G works perfectly with any version of firmware. Apparently this is not a problem with the 1Z0 035 729 D (1Z0035729D) Skoda UHV bluetooth kit and I hear that Android 2.1 phones work fine with the update.

Have you tried updating the firmware on the Kufatec kit?  What version do you have at the moment?

It's not a Kufatec kit, it's a Skoda unit that I got from vrStu. This is a known issue with the Skoda bluetooth version B units and 2600+ firmware on the RNS 510.

Cheers, shame it affects the BB as that is my work phone so it gets used much more than the iPhone (which works perfectly with this firmware).

Just realised the DVD playback hack is no longer working.  Has anyone got it to work with the new firmware 2720?
