Rear caliper buying advice please
« on: August 23, 2013, 04:12:10 pm »
The NSR Caliper binding came up on the MOT adviser Iv'e just changed the pads on the back but had trouble with the caliper, I gave it a good clean up but it's still squeaking/binding. It looks like it needs a new caliper.  Euro have got a Pagid for £75.60 or a TRW for £106.80 or I can get a VWTPS one for £105 any advise please on which to buy?

Decent prices -but are they GTI size/spec?

I recently got one from VW and it was £140

First things third... get some Ceratec grease on the back of the pads if they are squealing... the cally price is decent and look very similar in shape to the standard Mk5 ones; Mk6 are different again made by Bosch but are heavier (and no difference in piston size)... if I was you I'd get some grease on there and see how you get on.  If they still cause you trouble grab those on the first link. :happy2:

My caliper seized solid a few weeks ago. So ordered standard one painted and it was £75. You can get them unpainted for 45 ish if you want to paint it yourself..
