Blown PCV??

Is that expensive ? Still goes very well so performance doesn't seem affected

I would do a video as Edd said if u can.

If the PCV goes,it would adversely effect the cars idle quality.

Hi. Getting back to this post I believe it sounds like a belt slipping , it's only from standstill . It seems worse in the wet . Bar a cambelt are there any other belts ? Spent 1000 quid his week on service, DSG service , brake fluid and milltek exhaust so don't really want cambelt changed this month . Also when they change the cambelt do they do they do water pump too ?

Cheers

Just seen AMD do cambelt and water pump for 312 fitted . That seems reasonable

A week ago I had a dsg service and cambelt water pump and idler replaced at Murray V W Plymouth ,yesterday I drove the car for the first time as my wife said it makes a strange noise!
When blipping throttle it gives a shrieking noise, took it back to Murray ,technician looked at it and pointed out the auxilary belt tension pulley was the problem.  it stops if you switch air con off as it has less work to do.
He said we took it off to do the other work last week and sometimes when you move something it can cause a problem.
They wanted £240 to replace it and said they wouldn't have disturbed it doing the previous work which I disputed this as the technician had just told me he had removed it
It was fine before they worked on it!  they have now agreed to fit it free if I pay £89 for the part.

Cheers, that is def it as if I turn air con off it goes. Is this something I need to get done asap or can it wait to I get the cambelt, water pump done?

thanks

I would get it done soon or it could seize and throw a belt ,or don't use the air con in too much !
