Can anyone expand on what Alex has mentioned above?
The main reason in me not wanting to grab a brand new (not only because of the huge cost difference) but the fact that I'm not100% convinced the TB is dead.. Why? Because I've read a lot of threads with this exact error code that wasnt solved with a new TB, they then went on to try 4x TBs, ECU, replace the wiring loom, the latter one only getting rid of the g187/188 code, on the original TB... So even though a new TB may solve this short term the updated wiring maintained the longevity; at least for those owners.
I plan on doing a full resistance check on all plugs and ecu, cleaning everything up, clearing fault codes, doing a TBA and seeing whether the faults reappear.
But the statement above has me questioning whether I cannot use anything but a Q variant which seems very odd... Unless this was said simply as the best one to use rather than you Cannot use any other versions... Love to fully understand this.
