I live about 5 mins from SRR. There's a house I used to drive past to get to work that has two obviously modded white Leons in the drive, just wondered if it was any of you chaps? Also AMD have a base is Woking and I've seen you mention them before.
It would seem I'm not the only one who lives nearby. I know WhiteGTI does but there are quite a few local people! It's a shame this forum doesnt list your location under you avatar when you post as it's always nice to know who is local.
I've been to SRR several times, it's a piece of cake to find and is along side a very nice long straight piece of road that runs along side the M3 and along the back of Wentworth - behave though, the old bill are there a lot and I've seen some nasty crashes on along that stretch of road. I once saw a 200 SX emerge from the junction where SRR are located, he floored it, spun and narrowly missed an oncoming Range Rover. It can be tricky to find on maps, as it used to MoD and isn't always marked very well. In terms of facilities... there is very little! You've got a Starbucks at Bracknell Sainsburys, there's a chippy in Virginia Water which I can personally vouch for which is a 2 minute blast away, otherwise there are news agents in Windlesham, Sunningdale or VW - but nothing on site. It's basically used as an industrial estate and is totally dead at the weekend. SRR do tea and coffee though. Check it out on Google earth, the bridge across the road leads to the old MoD test track that is favoured by lots of cars mags and which you can now do track days at - it's a brilliant little circuit and very challenging.
The green arrow on the link below points to SRR, the map it's self on google is very misleading as what appears to be the junction into the site, is actually the bridge. Approaching from the West as most probably will, you can't miss the turning, go through the security check point and SRR is on the right. I only post this as I wasn't sure where to go when I first went, it's a big place.
Charlie's Subaru is as absolute beast, Legacy estate if memory serves. You can hear it coming miles away!
