Golf mk5 Xbox360 or ps3 in the car. Yes or no?
« on: August 28, 2013, 02:07:49 pm »
Found this

7inch touch screen full hd 1080p with hdmi input.

Stereo will have to go in armrest but I think with power inverter and screen and hdmi cables with power cables i think it all will cost me just under £200 to fit it all.

Yes? Or no?

And as it is a mini pc screen it can be installed with raspberry Pi and Internet can be runned from a dongle.

Why in earth would you want a ps3 or xbox in your car? When realistically are you going to use it ? you would probably need a bigger battery as you would suffer battery drain with it.

Well I travel for work round 110miles every day 3-5 in a car depending who's off when and it is boring just listening to music.  I think with battery I just get a massive compaseter.

There are a lot of these screens around and people that have done this kinda thing.
I myself have had a mini PC in a previous car with a touchscreen mounted and an overlay on the OS. It then had internet access, WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS for navigation and CD / DVD burning abilities etc.

Used to sync my music on to the hard drive and away i go.

More gimicky than practical TBH but fun to do none the less.

If I spend less time in a car well just food shopping and that's it would be nice. But spend 2-3 on the road every day and on weekend I don't even wanna mention.

I think the raspberry pi could be cool.

Xbox is abit hit and miss, my mate had a proper gangster matte black 7 series that had 2 screens in it with a Xbox in the boot. Was alright on way to shows just sat in back playing, but soon got bored

I'd rather just play a game on my iPad
