Hi,

Hope someone can give me a bit of advice / opinion on this.
I have a Golf MK5 2004 2.0 TDi.
I purchased a Powerflex Lower Engine Mount Insert after reading that some other users swear by them. I had a mechanic at a local garage fit it. No problems he said with the installation and he seemed very confident about it all.
However, about 3 miles into my journey home, after filling up with diesel, the engine started idling/juddering and misfiring badly. This juddering and misfiring now comes and goes. I've also noticed the car vibrates more in 4th gear that it seemed to before. Would these problems be related to the installation of the engine mount insert?
Thanks for any help.

Your lower mount has nothing to do with misfires! You will feel a bit more vibration especially in a  derv... In all honestly my advice would be to grab a proper mount the vibra-technics lower is amazing you'll experience less engine movement and less vibration then with the insert... it comes at a a cost though!

Thanks for the reply mate - much appreciated.
The problem I've got is almost identical to the one posted in the following link:
http://www.mk5golfgti.co.uk/forum/index.php?topic=51388.0

This guy posted a link to his engine misfiring in youtube:

That is exactly how my car is running.

It is worse when the car is just started up. After travelling a couple of miles it settles down slightly but you can still feel the undercurrent of a judder in there all the time afterwards. I have put a bottle of Forte Diesel cleaner through - no success so far.
It's a BKD engine, 140 GT TDi 2004.

Any other thoughts anyone?
