hi all nice lookin forum ive not got a golf yet but mite have in the next few week after learing a few bits first

at the min im  driving a evo x and i love it im thinkin of getting a mk5 golf gti as my every day car as the evo is 12 mpg lol so want to use it as a weekend / track car

 im a very active person on the evo forum and would like to do the same with golf forums

few things about me
1 man city fan
2 love fast cars
3 love boxing infact all sports
4 music beer ect all man stuff

wanting to find out mpg normal driving and foot down common faults to look out for white lookin at a few cars to buy i know ive prob put this in the wrong section but thought i would give it a go before looking at ur forum

Welcome, even a k04 with 350+BHP can deliver twenties everyday, more on a run.

Things to look out for on the TFSI are cam follower, DV and PCV all inexpensive items to replace.  Also the front wings are prone to rust on the Mk5 something that VW usually repair outside warranty.

Welcome to the forum, hope you don't bump into any Cardiff fans on here  :wink:  most of the common issues have been said and as for mpg ive seen 45mpg on a 20mile trip a number of times but normally I get around 32-35 when giving it some now and again.

Howdy. You won't go far wrong with a Mk5, they are excellent cars and the TFSI is very tuneable!
